Conference Video Of The Month
A different video this month! From Small Is Beautiful 2014, Karine Wolwart is a singer & composer and discusses the micro-business aspects of being a musician. But rather than use corporate business language, she uses folksy phrases & compares everything in her business to birds & bird life. If you're sick of "synergistic growth hackers creating value thru lead generation", you might find this video a nice change. She talks about simplifying everything in her business to keep things manageable & enjoyable & profitable. And when it comes to profitability, she also mentions avoiding gear acquisition syndrome, the compulsion to always buy the latest new thing...
Call For Presentations
FreeCon: The Freelancers Conference call for
presentations closes July 15. They are looking for interactive
workshops, panels, campfire chats and interactive presentations
for their audience of both experienced and beginner freelancers.
The conference will be held on 10 - 14 September in Austin, Texas.
Want some tips for getting your talk accepted? The folks at Business Of Software have written an excellent guide to what conference organizers look for.
